General Manager Permanent Job

Fantastic career opportunity for a General Manager to take the reigns at a branded 3-star hotel in South London.

Our client is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual who will be tasked with the day to day running of the hotel operations, with a specific concentration on ground floor operational departments and sales and revenue management.

The successful candidate will be charged with leading and motivating the operational management team to deliver outstanding levels of service throughout the hotel.

You will be required to drive standards with a keen eye for detail and will be accountable for revenue generation, customer service, employee engagement, operational efficiency and financial control.

The hotel has 156 bedrooms, 8 conference rooms, a breakfast and Lounge area.

Operations & Human Resources:

• Continuously challenges the team to improve operations. Ensures compliance with brand operating standards.
• Focuses team on delivering services and products to meet or exceed guest expectations, create customer loyalty and grow market share.
• Champions the brand service strategy across all associate levels and continually focuses on improving guest satisfaction.
• Creates and sustains a work environment that embraces the hotel’s culture, ensures fair and equitable treatment and employee satisfaction to enable business success.

Sales, Revenue & Financial Management:

• Oversee the annual operating budget to achieve or exceed budget expectations for the property.
• Ensure successful performance of the hotel by maximizing profitability and providing a return on investment.
• Focus on building the property’s top line revenue through revenue management.
• Ensure sales and marketing strategies are developed and executed in all revenue producing areas
• Continuously promotes occupancy, revenue per available room (RevPAR) and market share growth to ensure the financial health of the property.

Community & Associate Relations:

• Engages in local community activities representing the hotel’s local interests.
• Projects a credible executive image, builds confidence and can represent the property’s local interests by fostering productive community relationships.
• Ability to build and sustain a shared vision of success for the hotel.

Owner Relations:

Develops a trusting and respectful partnership with the Company Directors by communicating effectively and meeting or exceeding expectations in operations management and financial performance.

About you

• Extensive knowledge of hotel operations including rooms, food and beverage and conference rooms.
• Knowledge of revenue management and marketing strategies
• Knowledge of purchasing, inventory controls, supplies and equipment
• Working knowledge of hotel laws governing operations
• Strong organization skills
• Ability to effectively manage labour productivity
• Ability to use strategic planning and product positioning skills to grow the business
• Ability to evaluate business trends, determine applicability to customer profile and modify business strategies accordingly
• Ability to manage customer preference, loyalty and satisfaction
• Ability to network and build relationships to grow the business
• Strong problem-solving skills; encourages new innovative solutions when appropriate
• Strong analytical and communication skills, a good negotiator with effective influence skills and change management skills
• Strong employee relations skills
• Should already have the legal right to work in the UK / EU

Salary and benefits

• £45,000 to £48,000 per annum
